Don’t be nervous about opening “Intelius-suit pdf”. I have current Norton Internet Security (Thanks, Mom!), which updated 6 minutes ago, I swear. My shields are at 100%, my firewall, internet settings, etc., are set at Maximum Paranoia. When you open the above document, you will see a copy of the Complaint (which is a public record, in the Public Domain) of now, MY lawsuit against Intelius. (A Class Action in The United States District Court Western District of Washington at Seattle, Keithly, et al v. Intelius Inc., et al, Case No. C09-1485). I am a member of this Class . Now everybody calls me “et al” !!….LOL!!
It gets even better. The Link below (Copy and paste to your navigation toolbar) , will take you to an article about this mess on Seattle Weekly’s website. The Seattle Weekly is one of the last bastions of intelligent journalism. Great journalism, in this case. If you’re familiar with Boise Weekly or The North Coast Journal, and a few others, you’ll know what I mean. I PROMISE it is ABSOLUTELY OK to go to this website!

If you’re still nervous about an unknown website, “google” (always use a non-google related search engine!) “Intelius Class Action”, you’ll see a link near the top of the page to this very article on Seattle Weekly’s website. Anyway, in the article you will find many more links about the Washington Class Action suit. Or start with the SW website. On one of the pages there’s even a link to the pdf of the actual Complaint (See attached, it’s great). I think this is going to turn out to be one of the biggest internet scams of all time. (Except for google. It’s goin’ down, too.)
This company has stolen money from ME. I’ve had to disable my debit card and file a complaint with the Idaho Attorney General, and from what I’ve read, I suspect they have stolen my identity too, so this is probably gonna dog me for years. Today I have been accepted as a member of this Class.
I’m sure I’m not the only reader who’s been cheated (there are thousands of us, we’re a Class!) but probably most people who’ve been cheated don’t even know. So please, check your credit card and checking account statements (mine says “Point Of Sale Withdrawal MVQ*VALMAX 888-241-0049 CTUS -24.95″), although they apparently vary the name and the amount of the charges. $ 24.95 may not seem like much, but it is to me, AND it’s not a one time charge, either…it’s a MONTHLY subscription, the only sure way to get rid of it is to cancel your debit card or credit card and start over. So get this out there! Everybody needs to know.
Of course, don’t ever click on an Intelius website (and watch out, they use several other names, but when the page opens you’re on the Intelius website). It’s disgusting that google and even Norton have allowed them to do this for years. If you “google” (always use a non-google related search engine!) “Intelius complaints” you’ll see thousands of complaints going back several years.
