Intelius, ValMax, Class Action, VISA Charge Backs

I AM NOT AN ATTORNEY, THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE, IT’S JUST WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!

So.

The name of the company behind this is “Intelius”. Val-Max is just a name they hide behind.

There is a big class-action lawsuit in Washington State (in federal court, so you don’t have to be a resident of Washington).

I recommend that you email the story you sent me to: kswope@KellerRohrback.com Karen is the Attorney in charge of the lawsuit, and all you have to do is send her your info, and eventually, when WE win, we’ll get our money back (plus 3X damages). Best of all, it doesn’t cost anything. You are a member of this class. (Maybe you could put that in the subject line…something like “Intelius, Member of Class”) When I sent my original email, she called me back the same day, I don’t know how it will be on Friday afternoon.

Sorry to break it to you, but calling Val-Max doesn’t do any good. They’re used to it, it’s part of the scam, and I bet you’ll never hear from them again, except that they probably won’t even stop stealing from you until you close the account.

I was lucky to see the first charge to my account the first day, so I reported my Visa Check-card as stolen, and got another card the next day. But I thought the money was gone.

The thing is, the first manager I talked to at the credit-union didn’t tell me about “charge backs”. (The attorneys didn’t either.) The first charge was for $24.95, but then another one for $19.95 showed up the next day, even after I closed the account (They told me it had “been in the system already”).

The second manager told me about charge backs, which is where you complain to VISA, report fraudulent use of your account, and VISA credits your account “provisionally” right away. Then VISA tries to get the money back from the crooks. I think there’s a 60-day window where VISA can deny your claim, but they didn’t deny mine, so I got my money back, on the spot. The bank manager fills out the form, you sign it, and they credit your account right then. (I think I’m still entitled to damages.) Just guessing, but there may be a time limit as far filing a claim like that, but….

Anyway, I hope this helps. Please let me know what happens.

MSN and NEWSWEEK PROMOTE and Profit from WELL KNOWN FRAUDS

My MSN provides a “White Pages” module run by the infamous Intelius, which will (fraudulently) turn your .99 cent search into a $44.90 per month subscription. There are already Class Action suits in California and in US federal court against Intelius for this particular fraud. Intelius has cheated thousands of people, and has been doing it for a couple of years. Microsoft and MSN know about it, but still keep participating. I think Microsoft, MSN and Google ought to have been named as defendants in those lawsuits, I hope somebody will go after them, too. By the way, I just bought a new pc six months ago, it will be my last. Unless the people at Microsoft do something to redeem themselves, like apologize and refuse to run advertising for for Cheats like this, I will never buy another Microsoft product, and NEVER have another good word to say about them. Apple has never cheated me, my next machine will be a Mac.

And then there’s Newsweek. Following a link from My MSN to a Newsweek article took me to a page with an ad for one of those “Work at home for Google” SCAMS. Finding it hard to believe that Newsweek could stoop so low, I clicked on it, and sure enough, it was one of those Scams. For one thing, after this I will never click on another ad on MSN or Newsweek ad, because it was like clicking on a porno ad—they made it a chore just to get away. The other thing is, DOESN’T EVERYBODY ALREADY KNOW IT’S A SCAM? I just don’t understand how a Venerable Institution like Newsweek (Or any of them, see above!) KNOWINGLY consort with SCUM like this. WTF is WRONG with you people?

I ‘m not gonna take this sitting down anymore, and I’ll tell ya right now what I’m gonna do. I’m founding a Movement. Right here, right now.

I’m going to find a Member of Congress who will introduce two simple pieces of legislation.

The first will hold Media liable for knowingly running fraudulent advertising.

The second will TAX all forms of advertising.

To Hell with you rotten bastards.

Don’t be nervous about opening “Intelius-suit pdf”. I have current Norton Internet Security (Thanks, Mom!), which updated 6 minutes ago, I swear. My shields are at 100%, my firewall, internet settings, etc., are set at Maximum Paranoia. When you open the above document, you will see a copy of the Complaint (which is a public record, in the Public Domain) of now, MY lawsuit against Intelius. (A Class Action in The United States District Court Western District of Washington at Seattle, Keithly, et al v. Intelius Inc., et al, Case No. C09-1485). I am a member of this Class . Now everybody calls me “et al” !!….LOL!!

It gets even better. The Link below (Copy and paste to your navigation toolbar) , will take you to an article about this mess on Seattle Weekly’s website. The Seattle Weekly is one of the last bastions of intelligent journalism. Great journalism, in this case. If you’re familiar with Boise Weekly or The North Coast Journal, and a few others, you’ll know what I mean. I PROMISE it is ABSOLUTELY OK to go to this website!

If you’re still nervous about an unknown website, “google” (always use a non-google related search engine!) “Intelius Class Action”, you’ll see a link near the top of the page to this very article on Seattle Weekly’s website. Anyway, in the article you will find many more links about the Washington Class Action suit. Or start with the SW website. On one of the pages there’s even a link to the pdf of the actual Complaint (See attached, it’s great). I think this is going to turn out to be one of the biggest internet scams of all time. (Except for google. It’s goin’ down, too.)

This company has stolen money from ME. I’ve had to disable my debit card and file a complaint with the Idaho Attorney General, and from what I’ve read, I suspect they have stolen my identity too, so this is probably gonna dog me for years. Today I have been accepted as a member of this Class.

I’m sure I’m not the only reader who’s been cheated (there are thousands of us, we’re a Class!) but probably most people who’ve been cheated don’t even know. So please, check your credit card and checking account statements (mine says “Point Of Sale Withdrawal MVQ*VALMAX 888-241-0049 CTUS -24.95″), although they apparently vary the name and the amount of the charges. $ 24.95 may not seem like much, but it is to me, AND it’s not a one time charge, either…it’s a MONTHLY subscription, the only sure way to get rid of it is to cancel your debit card or credit card and start over. So get this out there! Everybody needs to know.

Of course, don’t ever click on an Intelius website (and watch out, they use several other names, but when the page opens you’re on the Intelius website). It’s disgusting that google and even Norton have allowed them to do this for years. If you “google” (always use a non-google related search engine!) “Intelius complaints” you’ll see thousands of complaints going back several years.

I used to depend on Art and C2C. Those days are long gone. Ever since those idiots took over (they’re evil, not just stupid), it’s all bible, angels, 2012, creationism, anti-science and all kinds of the worst stupid feces. I can’t stand it any more. Besides all that, their syndicate runs on the most extreme right-wing radio stations, which run all those even more evil radio shows. There’s a big movement to boycott their big advertisers (Walmart cut them off already). I haven’t given up yet, COASTTOCOAST BELONGS TO US! Complain to your local stations and anybody who advertises on them! Here’s a cc of my email to “georgenoorysucks.com (For Sale)” (I wish I’d bought that domain name when it originally sold for five bucks). I also sent a copy to Art.

To understand how strongly I feel about this, you’ll need some background info.

First of all, I was born in Detroit, too.

I also lived in Dearborn Heights, and very probably went to the same Grade School and church as our friend George.

I was there when the Tigers won the series. I was there when Hoffa disappeared.

I started listening to Art when Ed Dames and whatshisname the backwards speech guy were regulars.

I heard the famous father whatshisname shows live! (Reissued on “bonus” CDs a few years ago.)

In the 90′s, and being a big Art Bell fan, I actually visited Pahrump several times. (I worked at Stovepipe Wells for a while). Everywhere I went I asked “Does Art Bell shop here?” “Does Art Bell buy his gas here?” Nobody in Pahrump had ever even heard of Art Bell. Nowadays, everybody in Pahrump has heard of Art Bell. (By the way, I used to park my motorhome right on top of where they dug up the famous Las Vegas Mob treasure). Eventually, I even figured out where Art lives, without any help. I wish I would have had the nerve to talk to him, but I didn’t think it would be cool, Art likes and deserves his privacy.

I remember the bogus Art Bell “Scandals”.

I miss Art Bell, he was my best friend through many long, dark nights.

And then….And then….

It’s fine if it was time for Art to retire, but it SUCKS that Coast to Coast AM has been taken over by one of the nastiest Big Corporations there is, and they put a bunch of right-wing assholes (I do like George Knapp, he’s cool) on the air. But George Noory is an IDIOT. He’s so fucking gullible. He’s always pushing creationism, anti-science, anti-vaccination, all the worst stupid (even dangerous) shit. 99% of his guests are dangerous crackpots, 99% of the callers are assholes. The great guests Art used to have on the show have mostly, gradually, dropped out.

Recently I heard on NPR that many big advertisers like Walmart are cutting off right-wing Radio, and are actually having an effect on it. I hope so. I hope President Obama restores the Fairness Doctrine (“google” it if you don’t know what it was, but always use a non-google search engine).

Anyway, I wish I had the dough to buy the “georgenoorysucks” domain name. I could really do something with it, and I’m not talking about making money. It would just make me happy.

I hope you won’t sell “georgenoorysucks.com” to Clear Channel, or George, or Howard Stern, or something like that, because it would just disappear. I googled “George Noory Sucks” 4 or 5 years ago, and I laughed like hell. It still makes me happy.
